We are a cleanup crew, not insurance advisers, and nothing here is a promise about your policy. But we clear storm damage every monsoon season and we see the same avoidable mistakes, so here is what tends to help.
Photograph before you clear
This is the big one. Once debris is hauled away, the evidence is gone. Before anyone touches anything, photograph:
- The whole scene, wide, from more than one direction
- Each damaged item close up
- Any damage to the house itself — roof, wall, window, gutter
- The date and time, which your phone records automatically
Ask your insurer two questions
- Do you want to inspect before it is cleared? Some do. Clearing first can complicate a claim.
- Is debris removal covered? It is sometimes a separate line from the repair itself, and knowing changes what you ask us to do.
Emergency work is usually different
Most policies expect you to prevent further damage — that is often called mitigation. Clearing a tree off a roof or covering an opening usually falls under that even before an adjuster attends. Photograph it first, keep the receipt, and check with your insurer.
Keep the paperwork
We can itemise what was removed and when. Ask and we will write it up in a form you can hand straight to a claims handler.
Send photos when you are ready to clear. Text photos to 623-263-5172, or send them through the form.
Common questions
Do you bill insurance directly?
No. We invoice you and give you documentation to claim with.
Will you talk to my adjuster?
We will describe what we removed and what we saw. We do not assess or estimate damage — that is their job.
